Fun Things for Friday

1. There is such a thing as coconut M&Ms. These coconut M&Ms are at least twenty-seven times better than all the other M&Ms. WHY HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN HIDING THIS FROM ME?

2. Someone has made a graphic novel version of The Story of O. Now, without judging anyone, I find that the debasement of O and related ladies pushes this particular piece ( Read more... )

1. Bring me some of these Ms!

2. That was one of the most boring books I only read a few pages of.

3. Okay.

4. Abort your disbelief! No pun intended.

5. Maybe later it can have a DJ dance party.

2. *sigh* It got worse after that.

3. Okay!

4. And yet, intended or not, there it is.

5. Maybe, if it finishes all of its redlines.

I would read an essay on illogical politics in fantasy. Not that scifi isn't capable of offending as well.

*nods* SF is more than up to the task; I just read more fantasy, so I have more fantasy rants. :))

1) Sadly, these were apparently a limited-edition thing. (We have limited-edition cereals and candy now. We almost deserve economic devastation.) I myself find coconut an acceptable substitute for syrup of ipecac, but I know I am in the minority on that one. My wife adores these things and I buy them for her whenever I find any.

2) Is this really the first graphic novelization? I find that astounding, although I have no reason to doubt you.

3) I have no comment on #3.

4) That sounds like a fun roundtable. Be sure to work in "zero marginal cost is not the same thing as zero cost" somehow. This confusticates IWTBF types.

5) *waves to #5 from under his pile of trademark clearances*

1) Aw, crap. Say it isn't so!

2) I actually have no idea. Slate was talking about it like it was the first one, but I haven't gone looking.

3) Heh, me neither!

4) Yeah, no kidding. Bringing business to fantasy literature one hour at a time.

5) I hope you can dig your way out!

I like both those proposal ideas a lot :D

4. I like the second idea, personally, though I guess I would; it overlaps current professional!hat. Have you seen write-ups of the recent O'Reilly Tools of Change for Publishing conference? teleread.org did a bunch. Also, this is interesting.
