Books!

Okay, I am a quarter of the way through Feed.

After that, I have to read, in no particular order, Liar, Going Bovine, When You Reach Me, Silver Phoenix and Lips Touch, Three Times.

No more recommendations, monkeys, until I have read all five of those! I must focus!

If you even a little like Feed, you might like Unwind, because it is more adventure-y. People run away from the government.

At the moment, Feed is reminding me strongly of Uglies, but with an admittedly awesome opening line.

Though I do like when people flee the government.

Also, you are very badly behaved. Hmph.

Yeah, I figured, because I liked it, though not vehemently. Therefore you will not. But yeah, Unwind is closer to, say, Hunger Games societal dystopia than Feed, which is more of a jab at our own commercialism and, perhaps, glorification of technology.

I am I yam.

Very curious to see what you have to say about "Liar." I'm part way through. I have no suggestions--I get mine from YOU!

Loved Feed. I know it is supposed to be a cautionary tale, but I spent way too much of my time thinking about how much easier life would be with a constant internet source.

I'm also curious about what you have to say about Liar.

Heh, I was thinking as I was reading it that it reminded me of my Blackberry, where I have an inbox that consolidates all of my news feeds, twitters, texts and e-mails into one constantly updating stream of communication. I don't know that I'd be averse to planting that in my head.

I have Liar and Going Bovine on my immediate to-read list too (I started splitting up my TBR list into "to-read" and "to-be-read-eventually-and-by-eventually-I-mean-in-a-few-years". Be sure to write mini-summaries of them!

and a heads up to both you and Marbles, I joined the wdw_marathon running group (after I promised my friend Chris we'd join it together, and then forgot to press the shiny button. but here I am!)

*grin* I, too, divide my lists. It doesn't always work; sometimes I have to change genres or risk hating a book I would otherwise like because OMG too many faeries or swords or boys who want to see a girl naked. (I tend to read in streaks of similar topics sometimes.)

Ohh, same. I still think I need to give Ash another try since I read it just after Wildwood Dancing, which is similar but at the same time completely different. Also, I typically need to intersperse adult books with YAs :)
