Stayin' Alive

I get so annoyed at the frequency with which people tell me (stars in their eyes, full of wonder and bedazzlement) that when performing CPR, you should sing Stayin' Alive to yourself. They say this because Stayin' Alive has 100 beats-per-minute, and that's the goal you want to shoot for, as far as chest compressions: 100 BPM. So, wow, how freaky ( Read more... )

Perhaps they chose Staying Alive because that's what they want your CPR subject to do.

They surely did. However, I don't find it witty, or even charming. It is coincidence, and nothing more, and it irritates me how much people ascribe to mere coincidence.
