I have only the vaguest memory of Drop Dead Fred -- and that's from the trailers -- but I'm not sure full understanding is even necessary because you make what's going on so clear... in an oblique sort of way.

He will be made to glitter and to gleam while they laugh and leer and lick all the light off and out of him until nothing is left.

And this line (well, pretty much the whole paragraph really) transcends the crossover and is just beautifuly painful.

And it's still Dean... taking care of Sam.

Thank you, for such a wonderful review (it made my day).

"And it's still Dean... taking care of Sam."

That was exactly what I was aiming for. I always felt there was such extraordinary love between them; that Dean would do anything in the world for Sam. Here, that meant making sure he was the only one that paid the price for saving Sam's life (though Fred probably wouldn't see it like that).

Oh wow. That made me cry a little. What an amazing twist. Drop Dead Fred, to this day, remains one of my favorite movies. You fucking nailed it. Hang on, I need to go read it again.

Thank you - Drop Dead Fred is one of my favourite films too. I always wanted an imaginary friend like Fred . . . perhaps that's why most of my real friends are a bit left of centre ;)

It means a lot that you thought I captured both worlds. So, thank you. Really.
