Can we talk about how Fast and Furious 6 makes something like... four Avengers references at least? I counted (while watching for the first time and being mostly distracted by the shiny ( Read more... )

You mean the part where they finally roped Tokyo Drift back into the timeline? Or one of the other weirdnesses from the ending of this movie? I was overall gleeful to watch it, but ..... *cocks head*

Yeah, gonna write some fic from this movie after I find time to see it again.

I was happy to see them finally getting to Tokyo Drift! Sad to see Giselle and Han go die :( But waiting for it to happen was getting a little bit annoying, as much as I loved the two of them, you know what I mean? I love the idea of those guys going for revenge...

That's what I was hoping for. :)

Seriously, when my sister said they were roping the timeline back in, I was like, "So we get to see that Han really got out of the car after all, right?" and she got shifty-eyed and then the last scene happened and I am not okay with that. At all.

In a slightly related note, has Jason Statham ever played a bad guy? I want to say in a Guy Richie movie but everyone is a bad guy in his movies to one degree or another...

Counter question: Has he ever played a straight up good guy?

And yes, he played a dirty cop in War. Although, here too, grey, not black.

A straight up good guy? Actually yes :) The Uwe Boll movie, In The Name Of The King.

Other than that... not as far as I know.

Y'know, Tokyo Drift is the one F&F movie I've never seen. Maybe I should correct that.

It was horrible. Tokyo Drift I mean. The only reason to watch it has always been Han, who just owns everyone and everything.

I've spent years being in denial about Han. I boycotted Tokyo Drift and my logic was, "If I didn't see it, then it didn't happen, Han's fiiiiiiiiiine." And then the latest movie happened and I had to acknowledge it and watch Tokyo Drift (good Lord, as I said above, that was awful - Han was the only good part about it for me) in case there was something important that happened in there that I needed to know about (ha!) and then I put in 2 Fast 2 Furious so that I could forget what I'd just watched.

But, yes, I loved all the references! I had to grin at the image of them going to theaters to watch The Avengers. Hee!

The Samoan Thor especially cracked me up. I have a mental picture of movie night at Brian and Mia's. The whole clan sitting around, munching popcorn and dissing the action scenes.
