Since I have very little up top I am fan of the ruffles in the upper area of shirts, but I can't imagine a dress made of ruffles. A dress made of ruffles makes me think of parasols and gentlemen callers.

And I don't have anything against a bit of ruffles in strategic areas, just the connotation of romance that goes with it. It's ridonkulous.
