The media is so in the dark (no pun intended) regarding the goth subculture. These misconceptions really instigate some serious stereoptypes that I am sure have provoked some hate crimes against goths. If I decide to write a thesis for my MA, it will definitely have something to do with subcultures. It's an intriguing arena that has definitely not been investigated much by researchers, possibily because most researchers have had no involvement with subcultures themselves.

two teens jumped off a building and are dead. in the place from which they jumped the cops found writings on walls which contained lyrics from a somewhat Goth band popular in the former USSR as well as a suicide note where the girls dedicated their suicides to the "heroes of solitary decadence".
