Happy Birthday/Anniversary to us!
Alright friends. Things are different this month. Why? Because this comm's been around for a year now (whoo!) and when things are a year old, we celebrate!
So! To commemorate our solid year of existence, we are going to do a "Best of" contest! We'll take all the 12 winners of the past year and put them up for voting again this month, tournament style. Tournament style meaning brackets, e.g., for the first round you'll vote on one of two stories, and whichever story garners the most votes moves on to the next round. So our first round will have 12 stories up for votes, second will have 6, and the third (and final) round will have the last 3 stories left standing for you to vote on.
The brackets will be decided randomly - each story will be assigned a number and the match-ups will be generated by running those numbers through random.org. (Meaning if you've won twice this past year, you could very well have two of your own stories up against each other!)
As for prizes... yes, there will be a winner's banner for the end of the year winner. There will also be a TANGIBLE PpG THEMED PRIZE. I'm still amassing prizes, and I'll have an actual "Prize Post" go up before the first two rounds are over, but here's some of the things that are lined up already:
Voting for the first round will start this weekend and will stay open for a week. Next weekend will be second round. The final round will go for the last week of September, with the winner of the Best of PpGH_D: Year One revealed at month's end!
