Me: Most everything is ok, except my new glasses. Like an idiot, I let the Dr railroad me into to getting two pairs of glasses, one for driving and one for distance, and now I hate them both. I can't do hand work and watch TV at the same time, and when I forget the change before a meeting, I can't see the screen. I want bifocals again. I haven't ( Read more... )

Sympathies on the glasses. What are you going to do about them?

I have progressives that I got from Zenni, so they were cheap and I felt free to hate them -- but I actually like them (hated them three years ago, but tried again after hating bifocals.)

I'm going to wait until January when my vision benefits rollover and get bifocals then.

There's a train? The rides don't open until 11am, so we should have time to do that.

That looks like a lot of fun for $24/adult. If we got the 11am train to Santa Cruz, and the 4:30pm back, that would give us the longest day on the beach, and plenty of time for rollercoasters and funnel cakes.

Are you free on Oct. 8? It's the same weekend as Great Western War.

You have my sympathies about the cat pooping situation. My Neurotic Kitty has been doing that for awhile. We just found out from the neighbor that she's aiming her butt off the balcony and pooping onto the balcony tarp. That takes coordination!

Darn cats!

Cool! Wanna take the train learnteach suggested? I think it sounds like fun. http://www.roaringcamp.com/beachtrain I'd like to take the 11am train to Santa Cruz, and the 4:30pm back. It's $24/adult.

You can also get Montmerency cherry rootstock at Roger Reynolds Nursery in Menlo Park. Excellent pie cherries and self-pollinating. I think they're documented to the 16th c (Montmerencys, not the nursery).

That's the sort of cherry gormflaith recommened too! I think she can get some sort of buy 6 get 1 free deal, so we may make the order together. I'll check out Roger Reynolds, it's always nice to have an excuse to shop there.
