Haven't done one of these for a while:
1. I went to visit my parents over president's day. Mom had saved a Penzey Spice catalog for me because it had a variant on lasagne in it, a method for rolling up the lasagne in the noodle. I can't decide if it's worth trying or not. It might make serving easier for a big group. I'm hoping to get a veggie ( Read more... )

Clearly we need to all move to the Dakotas. There are plenty of jobs there.

I think it's not so many jobs in the Dakotas, as just a closer ratio of jobs:people.

I suspect the people who live there work the land, too, so they own their own jobs, so to speak.

Heh. Yeah, that was badly phrased. I meant gormflaith is trying to teach me to knit and, as another seperate project, we finished three small purses GM had cut out but not found interesting enough to finish.

I'll go edit that bit.

Finished projects are gold! Good luck with the knitting. That's a skill I wish I had more of. Rectangles are about the extent of my knitting.

2011 is my year to _finish_ or _give up_. Either way, I'm going to clean out some of my closets.

I hope I can learn to knit well. I lust after those fancy Nordic-looking sweaters that are too expensive to buy.

Yay, another knitter!

Just so you know, I will happily help anyone with knitting anytime, period or not. By now I've made just about all the possible mistakes, so whatever you do, I've probably seen it before ;)

If I have anything I'm willing to admit to, I will bring it to March Crown. :)
I am hoping to be able to make a man's Tudor knitted cap by the end of the year. But if I fail, I'll just lean harder on gormflaith. After last year's Sock Wars, she's made several charming baby sweaters. I wish I had her talent for fiber.

Unfortunately I have a work conference the weekend of March Crown. But I certainly plan to be at Mists Coronet. If you can remind me, I'll bring my "flat hat" for you to see, together with the experiments I did to make it come out the right size. (Which failed, BTW -- it's still too big for me ;)
