Five things make a post

Garden: GM and I skipped Beltane for no particular reason other than we were tired and needed a weekend off. I'm a little sorry we missed it, but on the upside I planted all the basil A'isha gave me. I dug a lot of weeds out of the herb garden and some out of the flower bed. I planted some peas, but I need to put some strings out for them to climb

Pig: awesome. Our gang of usual suspects wants to buy a cow one year. :) Will you be creating your own bacon?

Garden: What with the perfect weather for post-planting, the one you planted for me is going nuts. All the beans are vining. (Cathyn helped me get cages up in the nick of time.) The Early Girl has doubled in size at least. The cukes and peppers have not really gotten going yet, but I'm confident that this weeks predicted warm weather will perk them up. The birds have eaten most of one basil, but I think the rest will survive.

I started a batch of bacon curing from my pork belly yesterday. There is some talk of quick-curing a ham, but we'll see.

Have I mentioned you and Vittoria are just too cool? I'm going to have to get an East Coast butchering team put together because it's time to stop living vicariously through others. ;)
