This morning's bag was 14 snails, a bunch of little slugs and two monstrous slugs. They weren't the bright yellow of banana slugs, so I either have leaf-colored mutant banana slugs or they just weren't ripe yet. I hate big slugs. Yeah! So you can just pour out the beer and put the slugs (the regular garden ones, that is) straight into the garlic and butter. San Jose Mercury News seems to regularly run articles explaining that the shelled garden slugs are the same as the fancy French eating escargots. Yum!

I'd rather catch them live and feed them cornmeal for a few days to clean the little buggers out. I've never eaten the slugs (or the snails), because there's so many yummy excuses to eat garlic, I don't really need a yucky one.

I have the slug-catcher learnteach gave me a few summers ago, but it's not filled with beer at the moment. I'm not sure I've got any slug-quality beer in the house.
