Bella the kitten had to be put to sleep earlier this week. The neurological damage went from her walking in circles to a paralysis of everything below her front two paws, then trouble breathing. At the very least, in her last weeks of life, Bella had a full belly and was warm. Mom's neighbor-friends went with her to the clinic for support.

Yes, sometimes a brief but happy period is all they can have.

they're actively trying to trap a few ferals/runaways in the area, in order to get them out of winter's way.

That's very good news indeed.

It's kind of funny - the subdivision they're in frowns on having animals at all, so every rescue has to be done in secrecy. They're always walking the back trails to trade milk substitute and other items. The informal cat rescue center in Mom's friend's yard masquerades as a guest house.

thats so sad. my uncle had to put down his doggy rocky... god this week sucks for the animals i know or you know .. know of.
