I'll have to put that one on my request list - looks interesting!

On that subject, did you see last week's Community? I crack up every time at the basement-cat scene.

I've read a couple of these-- I really liked The Girl in Hyacinth. And I'll have to check out Dark Lantern (that sounds right up my alley!) and the one about the Amish.

I'm torn by the 6th wife. I'm such a sucker for the Tudors but I get frustrated by (as you put it!) but Dunn doesn't do a particularly good job of explaining why historical figures would suddenly choose to do the opposite of what they were known for. Yup. My theory is that they make a lot of money writing about the Tudors, but they run out of sensational things to say. Thus the reaching....

The Girl in Hyacinth was wonderful, wasn't it? The Amish one may be more of a local title, though.

Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris - Rather a disappointment. The strength of some of Harris's earlier Stackhouse novels was in how tightly plotted they were. This was a boring mishmash of different plotlines that were mostly pointless

Nods, that's exactly how I felt about it.

I think Sookie would get more accomplished in her day-to-day life if she had a goal beyond wandering through the days, trying to meet the right man, occasionally getting wrapped up in supernatural affairs, but that's the sense I'm getting from the novels.

I like the look of 'The Dark Lantern' - will have to track it down on Amazon.

I don't know that I'll be rushing to get the new Sookie Stackhouse when it comes out either, though I will probably read it at some point. Some series just run on too long though.

"The Dark Lantern" was actually a pretty good read - you'll enjoy it!

And yeah, some series don't know when to stop. I keep waiting for Sookie to have some more focus in her life, like trying to become a bona fide detective...
