I liked Buffy/Angel as well. ROMANCE. I remember watching a music video featuring those two with Our Lady Peace's "4am". I liked the video. Even though it was awful. I also liked the B/A moment in "Amends" (?) when it began to snow although it was kinda corny.
Nate and Brenda: Their relationship was so intense and full of problems that it was sometimes painful to watch, but that was probably one of the elements that made it work so well and made it feel real.
Buffy/Angel was also kind of epic. A romance that was larger than life and when they faced each other, the fate of the world was literally at stake, so I guess that's also one of the things that makes the romance between them pretty cool.
Nate and Brenda were interesting, because you saw two people who cared for each other and really tried to keep it together, but at the same time they were both not ready for relationships and too much of their own individuals to make it work. And especially in season 2, they were blissfully unaware of the problems that the other person went through, so I guess, if you take one thing from their relationship, then it's the following: If you ever want to maintain a relationship, then don't keep secrets from each other.
