Have this sitting on my computer for some time, but I just haven't gotten around to watching it. It's just so sad to see that SMG's career hasn't really taken off after BtVS knowing what she's capable of. :( I really liked her going a little indie with Veronika, but unfortunately this movie was also postponed several times, only shown in 3 or less cinemas and is now coming straight to DVD.
Yes, this was on my computer for months actually. It's really sad that her career hasn't taken off. The HBO pilot she made could have brought her career back to life, but sadly HBO passed on it, even though it was supposed to be VERY good and now SMG seems to concentrate on her family life rather than focusing on acting. She hasn't done anything since then. I'd really love for her to return to tv. A cable tv show would be good for her to finally receive recognition for her acting work (while at the same time she wouldn't have the same stressful schedule). Well, have fun watching Possession if you ever do watch it. It's entertaining, even though it's not very good.
I've read about it after I watched it. It sounds better than the version they went with, but I still think there would have been more possibilities to go with the story. Still, the version they went with is probably the worst they could have used.
Ah, I remember you once showed me that trailer. Well, it really does look like nothing special and like just another one of those not very interesting psycho thrillers, yet kind of entertaining. It was kind of funny when the trailer showed SMG in the shower after telling the viewer that the movie is from the executive producers of THE RING because I immediately had to think of the shower scene in THE GRUDGE. Now that was a terrible movie, especially terribly boring.
Sarah Michelle Gellar really chose the wrong kind of movies (and now she chose to be a mother, good for her!), though I can kind of see why she chose this one, because there were a few interesting angles, but overall it was every bit as predictable as it seemed to be. I have never seen The Grudge though.
Well, I don't recommend THE GRUDGE at all. It's one of the most boring horror movies I've ever seen with very little story and it only seems to rely on its shock effects.
Well, I probably wouldn't recommend "Possession" to people who are not fans of the actors, because they really were the only good thing about the movie (and nobody watches a movie for a decent cinematography).
