Well, it's really simple. :> Kurt likes Jaime as a person and is pleasantly surprised that they get along. He rarely gets along with guys, unless they're very similar to him. So he wants to become Jaime's friend, and will therefore include Jaime in his plans and ask him to hang out, etc.

It's a total change for Kurt that his sexuality isn't an issue for Jaime and he's grateful to him for that. That sticks out for him the most. The homesickness they share doesn't as much, because Kurt and Burt are such a unit against the world that it never occurs to him to be insecure about being perceived as weak for depending on it. So Kurt has no idea that the fact that he too misses his dad makes Jaime feel better. If he knew, he'd give Jaime more support. :P
