Smackdown show results (SPOILERS for SD inside)
SMACKDOWN WAS AMAZING. As it should be :D
I thought due to the roster it wouldn't be as good as previous years, but it was actually better then 2008's show. I'd rank it second behind Raw last year.
Mum and I went out at 4pm, and had dinner in town at Wendy's. Yummy. We were way early so we looked in The Warehouse, then walked down to the arena at 6pm.
I bought a programme again, this year's one is really cool. It has the whole roster, not just SD in it. The Nexus are even in it LOL. I wanted to buy a hat, but the lines were way too long, so we just went inside.
Our seats were great even though we were three rows back from last time. I had some girls next to me who were weird. They had this sign they kept holding up, and they kept leaving and coming back during the entrances. We had little kids in front of us so nobody was blocking our view. I stood on my seat during the entrances.
Here's the results, they're under a cut due to a spoiler for Smackdown, which hasn't aired yet.
Before the first match, Tony Chimel told us that Dolph Ziggler is the new Intercontinental Champion, and that he would be defending it in a Fatal 4 Way match.
Match 1: Unified Tag Team Championship Match
The Hart Dynasty (w/ Natalya) vs Drew McIntyre & Cody Rhodes
Was surprised to see the Hart Dynasty but they were a great addition! They were the first faces through the curtain so everybody was screaming for them. Drew was the first heel out, everybody was booing the crap out of him xD Drew is better looking in real life and Natalya is really pretty in real life! Cody got on the mic before the match and said that his teeth cost him $20,000 LOL. Then he said he didn't want the Hart Dynasty to hit him in the face cos he's gorgeous xDDDD It was funny. The match was really good, and Nattie got involved, slapping Drew xD At the end, Cody turned on Drew and attacked him and that let the Hart Dynasty win after a Hart Attack. Great opening match.
Match 2: Chavo Guerrero vs Alberto Del Rio
Alberto is the guy who's promos have been playing on SD in recent weeks. Everybody was a bit confused at first, but then he got on the mic and spoke in Spanish, then said that he couldn't understand anybody in NZ. Chavo then came out, and he was face for the match. I never thought I'd cheer Chavo, but I was rooting for him. Alberto won, and everybody booed him xD But we all gave Chavo a standing ovation on the way out. It was awesome when he did the 3 Amigos.
Match 3: Women's Championship Match
Layla vs Kelly Kelly
Michelle McCool was absent, but Layla was her usual over the top self. Kelly is SOOOOOOO pretty <3 The match was pretty good too, Kelly showed off her moves and got the crowd behind her. Loads of people in my section were chanting for her. Layla won, but it was still a good match.
Match 4: Jack Swagger vs MVP
First off, MVP had his hair out of his braids and his hair looked HILARIOUS, it was like an afro hehehe. You'll see when I upload the photos, Mum and I couldn't stop laughing at him xD Swagger actually had some supporters in the crowd, mainly guys. There was a guy behind us that kept yelling for Swagger and saying he rules, and these other guys were telling him to shut up xD Swagger looks just like he does on TV. And these other guys said Swagger was going to win, but MVP beat him mwahahaha. Awesome! It was a really long match and probably one of the best of the whole night.
The intermission was next.
Match 5: Fatal 4 Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston vs Christian vs Matt Hardy
Ziggler got one of the biggest boos of the whole night cos he won the title. He also looked at my sign twice, and glared at me xD Hehehehe. He then got on the mic and said we should respect him cos he was champ and then said he was "an American hero." Then he said "My name is..." and trailed off so I yelled out "ZIGGLES!" and these people heard me and yelled it too hehehe. Kofi, Christian and Matt got huge cheers, and I got a really good pic of Christian and Matt. The match itself was really fun and one of my faves of the night. It was all over the place and everybody got in their signature moves. At the beginning, we all told Ziggler he sucked and he got on the mic and said he didn't, so we yelled "YES YOU DO!" xD
Match 6: Two On One Handicap Match
Big Show vs Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury (w/ Serena)
No CM Punk, which was disappointing. But it was hilarious seeing Mercury bald hehehehe. He looks so weird! Big Show got one of the biggest cheers of the night, and he looked so happy to be there. The match itself was really funny, cos Show was kicking their asses xD The best bit was when he did the big chest slap and got everyone to be quiet xD He obviously won, and he looked like he was having a lot of fun <3
Match 7: World Heavyweight Championship
Kane vs Rey Mysterio
The kids went mad for Rey and he got a huge cheer. People weren't sure whether to boo or cheer Kane, which was funny xD Everything went dark during his entrance and then red, it was cool. The match itself was awesome - loads of counters and cool moves from both guys. Rey pulled off the 619 but Kane won with the chokeslam.
Then after the match was over, Kane was about to tombstone Rey but Big Show came out to help Rey. Then Swagger came out to attack Big Show, and Drew ran out and attacked Show too, which brought Kofi out to help Show. Drew and Kane got their asses kicked xD Kofi, Show and Rey celebrated in the ring and I got an AWESOME pic of Kofi and Show giving each other a high five <3 They posed for us and Rey sat on Show's shoulders.
And there we go! The show started at 7:30pm and ended around 10pm. It was about two and a half hours or so.
I should go to bed soon, as Mum and I are going to Real Groovy tomorrow, I have to get up at 9am.
I'll upload the pics tomorrow when I get home from shopping. I took loads of pics but a lot of them were blurry or had people's heads in the way. I ended up with 21 really good pics. Look out for them tomorrow!
All in all, a fantastic show and better then 2008's SD/ECW show, but not better then Raw. Was worth the $150, definitely!
