Well, first off, I haven't updated for four days :P Been too busy lol.
Dad's barbeque was on Saturday. Loads of family members I haven't seen for ages there. Ed took me, we had fun. I drunk 10 glasses of sangria (wine & orange juice) and I couldn't walk a straight line when we left. Luckily Ed was there to hold me up xD He didn't drink cos he was driving.
He also let me install Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on my PC. It's so much fun, although I suck at driving xD
Shows this week were good...
Raw:
- Not enough Shawn. He was on for like 2 minutes tops. At least him & Batista won.
- I suddenly like Mike Adamle. LOL he slapped Randy xDD
- Randy is a huge ass. That's all.
- Chris whines too much >_>
- JBL is a fat tub of lard.
- New tag team champs... Punk&Kofi <33
- Charlie Haas as Beth Phoenix was hilarious.
- Divas match was awesome, Kelly Kelly rules.
- The John promo was adorable, little John has cute dimples <333
ECW:
- Poor Evan Bourne, I hope he gets better soon :(
- Good 6 man tag match though.
- Teddy as the anchorman guy was funny xD
- Miz & Morrison weren't funny, nobody messes with my DX >_>
Smackdown:
- LMFAO poor Chavo. He never gets a fair deal xD
- I think Michelle McCool is going to go heel or something, she looked PISSED when Maria got the pin.
- Vickie laughing like that is something I don't want to hear again
- The Khali kiss cam was hilarious xDDD I think Khali is turning face.
- I love Triple H. I don't care if he keeps retaining the title. I JUST LOVE HIM.
Aaaaand now, time for DVD reviews. It's taken me AGES to finish these cos life keeps getting in the way. I'm watching the other 2 Unforgivens simultaneously.
Unforgiven 2003
I liked this PPV. Most of the matches were good, and the ones that weren't were kept short. There were a couple of random moments, but overall it was a strong show. Something interesting about this PPV? There were only 3 championship matches - the World Heavyweight, World Tag Team & Intercontinental titles.
Rundown:
Five-Man Handicap Table Match for the World Tag Team Championship: The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von) vs. La Résistance (Sylvain Grenier & René Duprée) (champions) & Rob Conway
This was supposed to be a six-man tag match with the Dudleyz teaming up with Spike Dudley, but he got taken out before the match. But despite the odds, the Dudleyz won the titles!! It was an awesome match, with D-Von being put through a table early on leaving only Bubba Ray to go through one. The action was fast and non-stop and the moment when the Dudleys won was amazing, they were so happy xD A great opening match.
Test (w/ Stacy Keibler) vs. Scott Steiner (if Test wins he gets Stacy & Steiner's services, but if Steiner, he gets Stacy back)
For a love triangle kind of storyline, this ended up as a really good match. Stacy is really hot (she has amazing legs <3) and she wasn't useless at ringside like the divas can be sometimes. The extra stipulations made this more interesting then your usual singles match. The end sequence when Stacy tried to hit Test with the chair but got Steiner instead was exciting. I felt sorry for Stacy, it wasn't her fault.
Legend vs. Legend Killer Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton (w/ Ric Flair)
Yay, Shawnie <3 He was on fire during this match, mocking Ric Flair and showing Randy how it's done. Too bad he lost cos Ric helped Randy cheat xD Shawn had Randy pinned and the ref even got to three and declared Shawn the winner but Ric put Randy's foot on the bottom rope and the ref thought it was there the whole time >_> Then Ric gave Randy brass knuckles and he got Shawn. BOO!! Shawn deserved the win. I'm going to ignore the fact that Randy won and give this one to Shawn :P
Lita & Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly & Gail Kim
Yay, divas! Funny to think that none of them are in the WWE anymore o_O But anyway, this was Lita's first match back after hurting her neck. She looked amazing and was a huge crowd favourite. This was a good divas match cos all the participants could wrestle. Trish & Lita got the win deservedly.
Last Man Standing Match: Shane McMahon vs. Kane
This match was MAD. It was all over the place as only a LMS match can be, and there were moments Shane could have won. He ambushed Kane from behind during his entrance and things were non-stop from then on. The end of the match was sick - Shane tried the Leap Of Faith from the set but Kane moved out of the way and Shane hit the stage with this sickening thud. It was a good match though and it shows Shane is a good wrestler.
Triple-Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship: Christian (champion) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam
This kind of match was always going to be fun, triple threats rule. Why hello thar Chris Jericho how nice to see you xD RVD was the fan favourite here though, I thought he was going to win at points. Everybody had their moments, but it was Christian who stole the match at the last moment.
J.R. & Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Jonathan Coachman & Al Snow (winners get to broadcoast Raw)
This was the only really sucky match of the night for a couple of reasons. Well, Coach was in it for one xD Second, JR & King lost :( Third, JR isn't a wrestler so King did all the work. But JR managed to get Coach LOL. But they still lost, bleh.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Triple H (champion) vs. Goldberg (if Goldberg loses he leaves the WWE & Triple H can lose the title by DQ or countout)
Well this match will be remembered for Goldberg winning the title. Since this PPV directly follows Summerslam 03 (which I watched in the last lot of reviews), I was rooting for Goldberg cos he got screwed in the Elimination Chamber. And he won! It was a good match too, although heel!Trips REALLY annoys me.
The extras were footage of the WWE when they went to Australia. My favourite one was when Shawnie & RVD did the Sydney Bridge Climb hehe, Shawn is adorable <3
Overall, a very consistent and strong PPV. A good start for the Unforgiven PPVs.
Match of the night = Shawn vs Randy
Star of the night = Shawn (he had the match won but was cheated >_>)
Out Of Ten = 8/10
Unforgiven 2005
Well, wasn't this a hell of a PPV! I greatly enjoyed this one, every single match was entertaining in some way. And a bonus? Shawn & John both had matches, directly following each other (John was in the main event & Shawn's match was right before it :D).
Rundown:
Intercontinental Championship Match: Carlito (champion) vs. Ric Flair
An awesome opening match, always good to start with the Naitch, ain't it? Ric was his usual entertaining wooing self while Carlito did a great job as the cocky youngster. Ric kicked Carlito's ass and won the title. The aftermath was hilarious, he picked women out of the audience and took them to a limo. The Viagra bit was so funny xD
Trish Stratus & Ashley Massaro vs. Victoria & Torrie Wilson (w/ Candice Michelle)
A surprisingly good divas match - I was expecting it to suck cos Ashley was in it, but it was her first PPV match and Trish was her partner so she didn't look too bad. And I have to admit, I've always loved Ashley's fashion sense, she looks great here. It was weird seeing Candice & Torrie as heels (especially Candice, I'm so used to her as a face), but this was a good match with Trish & Victoria doing most of the work. A good divas match.
Big Show vs. Snitsky
I hate Big Show now, but back in 05 he was a face and very popular with the crowd. Everybody wanted to see him beat up Snitsky and he did xD The match was just so-so, but the aftermath was great - Show hit Snitsky with the ring bell a couple of times xD
Shelton Benjamin vs. Kerwin White
The best bit about this match was JR always referring to Kerwin White as Chavo and King or Coach having to correct him xD In the end JR was doing it on purpose just to annoy them... I <3 you JR. Chavo was quite funny in his white guy gimmick and this was back when Shelton was actually good. He beat Chavo/K-White/whoever (lol JR <3) quite easily.
Steel Cage Match: Matt Hardy vs Edge (w/ Lita)
This was a great match. Edge was in his full on heel mode and Lita was a bitch, so of course Matt was the crowd favourite. There were moments either could have won and I thought it was over for Matt when Lita got in the cage. But that leg drop from the top of the cage was crazy! A very good match.
World Tag Team Championship Match: The Hurricane & Rosey (champions) vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
This match was the only kind of eh one. The Hurricane got injured during the match so Rosey did the work by himself and he was outnumbered. Cade & Murdoch won, so blehhhhh.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters
Before I get into the match, the promo package for this match was awesome... the best bit was when Chris was moving his pecs and Shawn's face was like o_O LOL <333333 But anyway, this was probably the best match of the night. Shawn never disappoints me, it's impossible for him to <3 I hated Chris Masters, he never impressed me. Shawn kept this match moving on and I thought it was going to suck cos of Chris, but it was really good.
WWE Championship Match: John Cena (champion) vs. Kurt Angle
It's always good when John-John follows Shawnie <3 Another great match! John had the odds stacked against him, what with Eric Bischoff being on Kurt's side. I thought John was going to lose when he came out, but John managed to get through it. He hit Kurt with the belt and got DQed, but then he FUed Eric Bischoff hehehe. Then he FUed Kurt Angle through a table. Another awesome match.
But you know what the best bit of the whole DVD is? The extras!
One of the extras is a 8 man tag match from the next night's Raw and OMG it's one of the best matches I've ever seen! It's John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Matt Hardy & Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Chris Masters, Edge & Snitsky. You can see why I love it now, can't you? John-John & Shawnie on the same side <3333333 But the match itself was incredibly fucking awesome. Highlights included John yelling at Shawn not to tap out ("don't you dare tap out, Shawn!" <333), Big Show getting all pissed and Edge being the sacrifical guy xD The ending was so awesome - Big Show pinned Edge and John, Shawn and Matt all piled on top of him xD Shawn sat on Matt's back LOL. Then they celebrated and Shawn sat on Big Show's shoulders. He did "you can't see me" to John <333 Matt was doing Big Show's hand thing xD It was so cute, I love it when wrestlers are like this <3
Overall, an incredibly strong PPV with excellent matches and an excellent extra. A winner and definitely the best PPV I've seen so far in my project.
Match of the night = Shawn vs. Chris (it kills me to not give it to John, but Shawn's match was a tiny bit better)
Star of the night = John (he retained the title!)
Out Of Ten = 10/10 (I'm giving it to 10 cos of the 8 man tag, it would get 9 without it)
