Very poignant once again! I like the fact that the one of the many fathers that had followed his Dad is shown as no more than that - not cruel or an abuser or whatever - just so not who Ezra wants to be with. Very effective piece, I love your little Ezra :)

The was a point I hoped the reader will get! I can see Ezra rejecting any attention from potential and future step-fathers after getting a taste of the boys' affection, love and being a part of a true family :)

nicely written. I love jigsaw puzzles too, so that made me smile all by itself.
