I am going to take a guess and say that the wand in the picture is the Elder Wand. I know I am wrong, but that was the first wand that popped in my mind when asked the question and then taking a peek at the cover art.
Its too light to be Harry's wand... I don't think it would be something like Lord Voldemort's wand either.
However, this story... Is it just me or is she taking over the roles of Harry and Voldemort? I mean, with all that power that she has when she is just a child? We know that Harry showed magical ability when he was a young child and that Lord Voldemort did as well. Though, to me it seems that this character in here is taking over the roles of these two characters by becoming much more magical and powerful.
Out of curiosity, but does the other fandom have children being locked up for their powers or is this something that the author created for the benefit of telling their story?
And no... the other fandom doesn't have children being locked up. When we're first introduced to Kagome we meet her on her fifteenth birthday. The children in the series are Kagome's little brother (whose stuck in her time), Rin (Inuyasha's older half-brother is horribly protective of her) the kid brother of the demon hunter who ends up killed and brought back to life just to be manipulated and then the white haired kid who was a split off part of the main enemy. There were some demons who liked eating children, but that's a different story all together.
As much as I like Inuyasha I dislike the majority of crossovers for the series as they a.) erase practically everything that makes it identifiable and b.) turn Kagome into a self-insert for the writers and/or a horrible Mary Sue 'cause she like Hermione is the kind of character every girl wants to be... only like Hermione they strip her of her good qualities in an attempt to make her either "cool" or "even cooler". Sad really.
We don't need the entire wikipedia entry on sugi wood. We really don't.
And if this is supposed to be Kagome, why is she being chosen by a wand with a dark core? She's got purification powers. Hell, after using it for a while, it wouldn't matter, since she naturally purifies things. (Also, there's no such thing as 'light magic based spells', unless you're talking about Lumos)
Finally, if she was only five when she was kidnapped, why is she having dreams about Inuyasha? She wouldn't meet him for another eleven years! (or negative four-hundred eight-nine, but you get my point)
