Being the unbonded mate of both Draco and Blaise Zabini, however was something nobody would have been able to predict. Creature-fic. Soul-mate fic. Draco X OC X Blaise Vampire Veela bonding. The moment I read the word "mates" and not used in the casual "bros, homies, pals, chums etc" way, I had to cry a little

Sorry, but it isn't "soul mates" if just one person has no choice in the matter. The guys have no choice, but the girl does.

I checked the story and I found this "gem" in the first chapter. I don't know why, but this feels hilarious to me.

"Skateboarding, reading, writing, playing instruments, learning different languages and facts about anything and everything I could find was something I prided myself on. People assumed because I was a skater, I was a stoner. Because I read, I was a know-it-all. Because I could play instruments, I was indie. Because I dressed a certain way, people made assumptions about me. All these different stereotypes almost made me laugh, if they weren't so fucking annoying. I couldn't go a single day at high school without one person commenting on my social, or lack thereof, life."

The whole paragraph isn't original at all and the last sentence is so off-topic that I can't help but stare wide-eyed. And why all cursing and rude gestures? Does it make main character more badass or cool? No, it makes her seem more like a hormonally imbalanced teenager.

Destined mates are bad enough, but it's even worse when the Veela/whatever will die if he doesn't bang the girl. That should strip all the romance out of the relationship, because (assuming she's not a psychopath) she's doesn't have a choice in the matter any more. In theory, this could still work, since it's more or less like an arranged marriage, but in practice, we're supposed to see this as romantic, so... fail.
