What's the house of the Night series ?

I looked it up on wikipedia so my knowledge is limited to what the article describes. it says that house of night is about a girl named zoey who becomes a vampire and has to attend a boarding school called the house of night (hence, i'm assuming, the title).

Zoey is also likely the reincarnation of Nyx, who is a Goddess of the vampires. She's also a high priestess for Nyx. She goes from being a fledgling to a full fledged vampire far quicker then any other. Her step father is a radical Christian. The books use a lot of sterotypes and cliches, not to mention Zoey is a big time Mary Sue. She's the self-insert for Kristen Cast too.

This series sounds like a nightmare of cliches and terrible writing. I don't think I've ever heard praise for this series, come to think of it.

The entire fic confuses me. It doesn't seem like much thought went into the story and it seems to go all over the place. Though that could be me... I've never heard of the other fandom before in my life, I've only read Harry Potter. Even if it were a Twilight fic, I think I'd understand that a lot better than the way this story is going.

I don't understand ANY of this...but a green panther sounds really ugly.And technically wouldn't be a panther, since a panther just means "any big cat that is black due to melanism" and a green 'panther' would not be black by definition.

I don't understand much of the story either. I mean it does seem to go all over the place and doesn't explain much. The author doesn't seem like they know what they are doing and what they want for the story.

I have to read it further though. I am sure I'll have a different opinion on it once I read it but judging from the example, I think that the entire story is going to be a big huge confusion for me.

Though, I think that is possibly because I don't know the other fandom. I haven't ever heard of this one before to be quite honest with you.

I was quoting mangling the opening lines to the old He-Man cartoon, since it has a green cat. I'm probably dating myself there as one of the older participants in this community.
