This entry was submitted by angakkug_01 and also agent_chliever (back on the June 20th entry of last year). By the way, the e-mails still do work if you want to submit a fanfic, but I prefer checking LJ's PM box because it is one less thing I have to check

And I really don't see what Dumbledore did that was so horrible. Yes, he kept secrets from Harry. Everyone does. If he told Harry "You have to die" before Harry was ready, Harry quite probably never would be ready. And despite what McGonagall the author said, there was no way around that. It wasn't the prophecy they needed to get around, it was the shard of Voldemort's soul inside Harry.
"Who do you imagine was looking for you? I certainly wasn't”Yes, of course. Dumbledore should have trusted Lucius. It's not like the man was willing to sacrifice children's lives as a political move or anything... oh, wait ( ... )

Poor Dumbledore... Why is he so hated? Man, I was devastated when he died...
On a bright note, the interlude with the sentient mirror I actually found kinda cute and Rowlingish. The rest is really bad though :(

Wut.
I don't mind the Malfoys adopting (even though they seemed happy with having just one child), but I think that Mr and Mrs "magic supremacists" wouldn't pick a muggleborn even if their lives depended on it. They would search the whole world looking for the only orphan who's also a pureblood...Or make a pureblood orphan, for that matter.
Also, only Hogwarts knows which seemingly muggle kids are actually wizards and witches. But that's when they're about to turn eleven, ergo, going to a far away school. Yep, I see how great companionship would that situation offer: "Hi, sister!...oh, you're leaving already?"

Like most of the fic, it feels like the author trying to ram his ideas of how everybody should live down our throats.
Incidentally, even if they adopted a pureblood, I don't think Lucius would be a good adoptive father. I'm not saying he wouldn't try to be one (or at least, what he considers a good father to be), but I don't think he'd be able to avoid showing large amounts of favoritism to his biological daughter.
One last note, if I understand it correctly, the ministry has a magic pen that writes down the name of every magic child in Britain when they're born. So adopting a muggleborn witch or wizard wouldn't actually be that hard.

If you want to see a really bad case of author soapbox, try "Time to Fix the Mistakes". A good sporking of it can be found here.
