Tip: You the writer come up with the plot idea of someone getting together with a canon character and decide to run with said plot idea. The problem is, your plot idea isn't actually a plot idea. Ships aren't plot ideas! How you get the characters together is the plot idea, and if that is missing don't start your story! Otherwise you end up with a story that does nothing like this one did.
