3622, I think.

Lol she can't even spell Soleil and Beauxbatons right.

I ACTUALLY TRIED FINDING THE REAL MARRIAGE LAW, SO FAR, NO SUCH LUCK. SO I SAT DOWN, MADE UP MY OWN.

1) Turn off your capslock.
2) That's because *gasp* THERE IS NO MARRIAGE LAW.

Failure to comply with this decree will result in the arrest of offending party and imprisionment in Azkaban for a period of no more than 5 years.

Methinks this author doesn't understand Azkaban at all. The Unforgivables are punished by life in Azkaban and the author thinks refusing to enter a shotgun marriage is worth up to five years? HA!

Has anyone ever had a plausible reason for the Ministry to pass such an absurd law?

Has anyone written one where the two main characters obey the law and are agreeable to one another but never fall in love?

Or how about instead of forcing people into arranged marriages, the Ministry instead takes the far more sensible course of providing incentives to have more kids?

I honestly don't recollect anyone coming up with a plausible reason for such a law, but then again, I also don't know anywhere in human history where such an absurd law was passed. Laws regarding who one could not marry, yes, but not laws regarding who one would marry.

I usually get one review per chapter of my work.

You know, I'm less pissed with Fred being still alive and more with him knowing some random American bint that's not in any other work. And why do we NEED a marriage law for this romance to happen?
