[So, James isn't really one to stay put in his room (or more accurately, his cubicle) just because he's suddenly blind. Once it became apparent that everyone was going through this, it just meant that it was another event, and that it would go away on its own eventually. Instead of being, you know, cautious and careful, James has decided the best

He understands the basics of what James was just saying, but it's almost like he can see certain words. For instance, the word 'dragons' looks like a firebreathing lizard. Other words, however, are less obvious.
Take the word 'random' as an example: for whatever reason, Sirius sees a pogo stick, which he has gained a very vague idea as to its purpose.
In any case, he responds to James's question as best as he can. His voice might sound a little off because he can't hear how it sounds but the meaning should still be clear.]
No idea what floor you're on, mate. But I'm almost completely sure the entire event isn't about not seeing.

Anyway, James doesn't need to even ask who this is - he'd know that voice anywhere. He shrugs though, when Sirius says he doesn't know where he is.]
Well, it doesn't matter much really. If I go all the way up or all the way down I'll figure it out.
[Because, you see, James Potter does not get lost. He just...loses his ability to see and goes adventuring anyway.]
And I know, I know. It's not seeing for me though. I take it your eyes still work? How's your first event treating you?

Right, so you want me to walk up and down this whole place until I find you?
[It's a good thing Sirius is bored and has been looking for a suitable diversion. This is good enough.
James is too cool to get lost, of course. Besides, adventuring sounds much more exciting.]
I think I'd know if I couldn't see. Anyway, seems that it's my ears that aren't working, but the odd part is, it's like I'm seeing sounds.
[Sirius sounds more intrigued than upset about this latest development.]
Say something, why don't you; it can be anything, as long as it's funny. I could use a laugh.

[Aw, now he actually feels a little bad. He would have just walked downstairs or something, so he wasn't just somewhere random. It wouldn't have taken too long either - he's up on the second floor, and despite being in an area full of boring cubicles, you can't miss him. He's the only one there, and he's touching and playing with everything like he's five.
Anyway, he deliberately tries to be more careful with his words and tone so everything he says will come across. ...Hopefully.]
You're seeing sounds? That's incredible! If I touch something, I can get a sense of it - I can see an outline. It's hard to explain, especially in a way that you can...see.
[So he stops trying, really. Instead he tries to think of something to say, which is a little difficult when you get told to say -anything-. James is full to the brim of funny things he could say.]
Hm...something funny. Oh! I got told a joke the other day! Want to hear it...see it, I mean?

[So desu helpful, Ryohei.]

[He pauses.]
...Or, it could have been when I was here the first time, I suppose. But either way, I don't remember anything like that.
