Sevvie and Mione are made for each other, aren't they? In quite some fics, the obstacle preventing them of getting together aren't their personalities or the age difference. No, it's a freckled man called Ron Weasley, but more often than not only vaguely resembling Harry's best friend in canon. The red-haired hindrance to overcome is usually stupid

Thatcher wasn't exactly loved. Making Snape the only shaggable male in Hermione's sight isn't a good recipe for a fic.

Er, I killed him in an SS/HG fic, but to my credit, I made him really nice.

Any cliche can be done well, but I've seen this one being done badly over and over again.

Guilty. My rationale: since the writing is on the wall (and it's in bright neon purple) that they'll end up together if the Viktor thing doesn't pan out, we have to do something about that kid if we want to have her ship with anyone else *and* in a remotely believable way. It seems to fall to either killing him or making him a buffoon (or an abuser - have seen that a few times too) so I killed 'im. There are obviously other ways, but that'd be almost two separate stories to show the rise-and-fall of HG/RW lurve.

To me, personally, nothing. And I am a SS/HG shipper. Hmm, and I thought we were going to play nicely ;) As a dear HG/SS shipper I will just say that yes, awful Ron is like a plague in the fandom but no, it's not always - some of the best HG/SS stories I read actually featured terrific, interesting, IC Ron Weasley. Well, then he often gets killed - but not always, I repeat, not always. In my own story (written in Polish ;) he neither dies, nor is awful. But then, well, I pair him off with Luna...

A suggestion - how about we pair Ron off instead of Character raping or killing him off? Now, that's an idea ;)
