love you. now i'm going to proceed to dream about dentists rubbing their bald heads and then having sex with vietnamese old women while on opium. thanks a lot.
omg that movie is incroyable! i will never forget that part where she just makes the random cab driver in the turban get out of the taxi in the rain so they can have sex. i remember that roucher leaned forward on her desk during that part and exclaimed (very excitedly, in a whisper), "une histoire de romance commence!" it was unbelievably ridiculous. and then i walked by her room after class and saw she was still watching the movie-- by herself. c'etait bizarre...
oh, and don't they work on a peanut factory or a rubber factory or something? okay, yeah, sorry this is such a long comment, but this is the first time i've thought of indochine since last year and it just made me so happy that you wrote about it! :)
what is "la boum" exactly? Is it a movie about some crazy party? Because we really haven't seen many french people in our movies partying. Mostly being angsty and having sex alot.
la boum is a movie about a young girl who goes to her first party and subsequently falls in love with a boy, runs away to meet him, and spends the night with him on an air mattress in a garden shed. (no sex involved, just a lot of weirdness). she also has a crazy harp-teaching great-grandmother who gives her boy advice. the last scene of the movie is her at ANOTHER boum, seeing/dancing with/falling in love with ANOTHER boy. oy veh.
most confusing part: the soundtrack is the endless repetition of this one song in english. dreams are my reality, the only place to beeeee blah blah blah i dream of holding you all night, and holding you seems right... it's awesome.
