There's nothing new about Limbaugh and Coulter, and nothing interesting except in a horrific car wreck kind of way, but I was struck by the wording of one of his daily incendiary comments when he said "I hope Obama fails". He later went on to clarify that he "hopes liberalism fails," and implied that the two statements are essentially the same.

Not since the Clinton era, (the birth of toxic-talk radio since Clinton presided over massive media deregulation) have we seen Limbaugh and his ilk "do their worst." Before, it was all defense, attacks were just ad hominem games to keep the flock convinced that dissent from Bush and conservatism was insane, sick, and evil. Now he has a bigger target. Fortunately it will only get bigger. Republicans will be losing more seats in 2010, I'd put money on it.
