Why I Am Not A "Gay Conservative"

Not the Same Thing.

I saw TransAmerica last night and must report that the only thing I liked about the film was Dolly Parton's Oscar-nominated (but losing, natch) song.

It did drive home, however, just how different transgendered people are from gay people. Sorry, but the desire to obliterate your born-gender identity (and, specifically, your detested sexual equipment) in order to live, usually, as a heterosexual has little to do with the gay experience-or simply with same-sex attraction. But "LGBT" activism thrives on obscuring this difference as if it were merely one of degree, further confusing the public regarding the nature of homosexuality.

Grrrr.

"Confusing the public regarding the nature of homosexuality." Good thing this boy genius isn't confused about the nature of transgenderism, right? It's "the desire to obliterate your born-gender identity (and, specifically, your detested sexual equipment) in order to live, usually, as a heterosexual". So now that we're all clear on that, please, please, oh PLEASE do not go associating us REAL MEN with "those people".

PS - Oh, and remember how those silly politically-correct people used to insist on "Gay and Lesbian" all the time? Well, obviously the "Independent GAY Forum" will have none of that nonsense.

Not that it's male-dominated or anything like that.
