The harnesses were incredibly interesting devices, but every so often Tony would gravitate back to the main teleporter and examine another section of it with a mixture of concentration and deep admiration. He'd already grilled Reed about as much of the theory as he could, but it was a really cool piece of tech.

"Can you believe he got it working?" He glanced over at Iron Man and leant against a panel casually, "I mean, I still can't follow some of the equations."

"Reed Richards is very good at what he does," Iron Man noted. It looked at the panel Tony was leaning against. "You shouldn't lean against that. You've changed the settings on some of the switches."

Iron Man remembered what each one had been set to previously. It could put the machine back to the correct state.

"Whoops," Tony twisted to look at the panel. Some of the switches he could correct on his own, but the settings were meant to be precise... He frowned, but then caught Iron Man's thought and stepped back to let it make the rest of the adjustments. "You go ahead."

Iron Man walked over, reaching out to adjust the settings back to their correct position when the machine started to activate. The power was building up to very unsafe levels and it could detect problems as the machine started to overload.

It reacted faster than most people could, chest plate and legs opening up so it could grab Tony and put him inside before sealing itself up again to protect him. No time to shout a warning to Peter, and no time to get to him as the machine violently exploded with enough force to send parts of it flying and damage the support structures of the building.

Rescue Thread

Lorna had told Peter she'd help with the rescue, so that's exactly what she did. Flying, she made her way over to the lab, already using her powers to feel out victims. Each person had a unique magnetic field surrounding them, not to mention Lorna would be able to feel an entire suit of metal very easily.

When she set down at the site, she called out as she focused her powers. Feeling, feeling, feeling.

"Hello?"

Tony looked up from the comm's screen at the sound of someone's voice, and leaned towards the crack in Iron Man's chestplate to yell back, "Hey! Over here?" He hoped it was this promised Lorna, and not some civilian.

Ah, there we go. Lorna levitated over to the area the voice came from, her hands glowing bright green. "My name is Lorna Dane. Peter sent me to help you."

After he'd heard about the explosion, Tony had been...

Was worried the right word? Angry for sure, but also worried. The smaller version of him was a kid, and he already acted quite a bit more like him, minus the interest in dates (but that could be rectified) and his hacked sensors were telling him of trouble almost as soon as it had happened. He'd actually ran to the scene, before finally arriving to find... was that Lorna Dane? Interesting help. She was talking to someone.

"Is that him?" he asked, running up beside her.
