Steve had been enjoying his lunch when the sounds of a scuffle started filtering through from the kitchen. Initially, he'd decided to leave it, reckoning that it must just be some sort of cooking mishap. Then, of course, the purple-haired man had stumbled out into the dining area.

Immediately, Steve was up from his chair, moving to help him up. Hepzibah's complaints about anti-mutant discrimination rang loud in his mind as he hurried over. Maybe he'd missed it back home, but if it was around here, he wouldn't stand by and let it happen.

"Are you alright?"

Yuugao tensed at Steve's approach, though after sensing the not-chakra within him the shinobi let himself calm a degree. There were still the four assailants behind him, but this man was not likely to be a threat. Most of the others like him banded together to a degree.

"Four, all armed," he surveyed the startled patrons around him and frowned. "One has a gun."

The kitchen doors burst open about then and an axe came flying at Yuugao -- he would have simply ducked and let it hit the wall behind him, but there was a booth with a family in it. Trusting to his years of experience, he took two steps closer and snatched the weapon out of the air, spinning around to release some of the axe's momentum. As he turned to face the surprised man at the kitchen door - along with his three compatriots - Yuugao only just resisted the urge to grin.

Instead, he nimbly flipped the axe into a more usable grip and sank into a fighting crouch, his free hand extended to catch or block anything else they threw at him.

"Only three armed now."

Steve boggled at the sight, then readjusted his initial assessment of the boy. Obviously he was older and more skilled than he looked... which was one less thing to worry about. Still, violence in here would be bad in general. There were people around.

Slowly Steve walked toward the armed men, hands held up in the air.

"Sirs, I know you might be upset, but there's a lot of innocent bystanders here. Maybe we could try talking out your grievance instead?"

He might have looked harmless, but as he inched forward, his eyes flicked over the the serving tray not two feet away. It would do as a makeshift shield as a last resort.

The axe-wielder continued to look upset, but had lost a lot of his bravado with his weapon. Now the one with the wooden club - a baseball bat, though Yuugao didn't know it - took the lead, pointing his weapon at Yuugao and scoffing at Steve.

"There's nothing to talk about! He messed with my boy and he deserves the beating we're gonna give him."

"Drag him outside for us, hey? Then no one in here will get hurt," the man with the gun laughed. Obviously they were all drunk with adrenaline and blood lust.

Yuugao held the axe steady and wished they had given him something he was more familiar with -- did no one use swords any more? "The boy was trying to break into my apartment-"

"Lies!" the man hissed. "That's all his kind does, lie."
