Dani had gone from concerned to worried when she'd gotten the text from Pixie that Gar was in the hospital. She hadn't been able to reach Gar during all the rioting but part of that had been the sheer number of people and the overloaded communication network.

She walked into the clinic, noting the various people who were getting treatment for injuries. Dani looked for a familiar green, striding over once she spotted Gar.

Next to him, she touched his face. He had a bandage on his head.

"Gar?"

He'd put up a hand to wave lamely when he saw her crossing the room. The touch was answered with the slight incline of his head into it. "Hey. How's it going?"

The tone is trying to be perfectly casual, which falls flat in the setting. He should probably just get right in there before all the questions were asked. He sighed and scrunched up his nose. "I got hit with a bottle."

Dani sat down next to him and brushed what hair there was away from his face before taking his hand.

"Well I'm worried. My boyfriend got hit with a bottle and has a bandage on his head."

She squeezed his hand. "Are you okay?"

Gar turned his hand up and gave her hand a squeeze back. The concern was endearing, really, but it wasn't like she needed any more help with that. "Yeah, I'm fine."

The smile came much easier for a moment, but then he let out a little laugh, bitter, and shrugged. "Actually, I kind of feel like crap right now, but the cut's not a big deal."
