WHO: Lestat and Celestia
WHAT: Did somebody call for really shitty security?
WHERE: The Manhattan school/safehouse for mutants.
WHEN: FORWARD DATED to around the time when the anti-import protests start picking up a bit.
WARNINGS: It's Lestat and Celestia. Hideous is definitely a warning, though I'm not sure what else will be.

Celestia had, apparently, had the same idea. Of course, in her case the motivation was genuine concern for the safehouse and a desire to give any potential vandals a firm talking to about the importance of acceptance and generosity, but the end result was roughly the same.

Rather than blending into the shadows, though, Celestia appeared a few yards from the vampire with a brief sparkling of evening-inappropriate sunlight. At first she didn't seem to realize he was there, but when she caught sight of him she smiled.

"Oh, hello there! I hope I'm not interrupting anything. You must be Lestat."

NO WORRIES.

Lestat winced, and moved away from the sparkling of sunlight. He didn't want to die in the middle of the night thanks to a freak accident with...a horse. He frowned as he looked over Celestia. He had seen many odd things in his long life, but this was easily the oddest.

"That I am," he simply said, frowning at Celestia. "And you are?"

"My name is Celestia," she told him, not apparently bothered in the least by his frown. "I heard that you were keeping watch, and I thought you could use a helping hoof!" She winked, conspicuously.

Lestat wasn't sure what made him more insulted: the fact that someone thought he needed help, or the fact that a horse thought he needed help. He scowled, turning away from Celestia. "I'm fine. I don't need some freakish glowing horse to keep me company."
