Due to the fact that Warren couldn't see a damn thing, he'd stayed pretty close to his backdoor at first until he'd been able to step out across the deck and find the railing. No one inside would question him being outside for some air, especially since they knew how bummed he was about not being able to fly. That would give him a good chunk of time to humour Lestat and have a chat.

But he would still be on alert. Warren knew, for whatever reason it was, that Lestat wouldn't jump out and hurt him. If Ali were to come outside--or if anyone else was to approach for that matter--then maybe they'd be singing another tune. For now, Warren would just keep his ear to the ground and hope for the best.

Lestat was quiet on his feet, though, and hearing his voice made Warren jump ever so slightly at first. "It's been awhile. How long have you been in town?"

Lestat smirked slightly, watching as Warren jumped a little bit. He could only imagine what it would be like being blind. Being deaf had been trouble and chaotic enough, he would hate to lose any other senses.

"Ever since your death," he said, nodding at Warren. "The night I heard about it, I came down as fast as I could. It's amazing how fast cars are-I could never cover this distance by myself." He had learned how to drive rather quickly, picking it up by watching mortals drive, and by watching the man who he had killed for his car.

"How have you been?"

If Warren had been anyone else, he assumed, he'd probably be a bit terrified at the prospect of Lestat coming down this way just for him. In fact, most people would probably feel pretty damn threatened at that--smart people, probably. Yet Warren found himself taking that in stride and wasn't too worried about it at all, really. He and Lestat had themselves an odd relationship that both annoyed the hell out of him and...well, simply put? Wasn't so farfetched from the rest of his crazy ass life anyway.

"I'm not particularly fond of being blind again, so it's been a bitch. No flying an all that," Warren replied slowly. Yet, so far, being blind hadn't even been the worst of it. His mind was still completely reeling about everything, but it wasn't the type of thing he'd been sharing outright.

Because of that, Warren had to ask: "Doesn't being dead ever bother you? Or did it at some point?"

Lestat walked up on the porch, leaning against the railing and looking at Warren as he spoke. It was odd, seeing Warren like this. Whatever happened before he died was important to the man.

Lestat shrugged. Realizing Warren couldn't see it, he continued to speak. "Do you mean being dead or being a vampire? They are two separate things. Being dead? Slightly. Every immortal has a small longing for his mortal life when he first starts out. Not now, of course. I've done so much more as an immortal than my mortal self could even dream of achieving. But being a vampire? Not at all. I love it."
