WHEN: Today! Whenever Dani ports back.

SUMMARY: Dani comes back with a surprise for Sam. And the surprise is in her mouth.

"...bring him home."

And with those last words, Dani found herself feeling like she was spiraling down a drain while at the same being pulled apart. Then it got suddenly dark. She didn't remember closing her eyes but opening them let her see frosted glass. She told herself not to panic and the smooth glide of it opening brought her into the hands of scientists and staff. The words they tried to ease her with sounded mute and she wanted to go home.

This was familiar, maybe? But where were the familiar faces?

Finding herself outside, she walked a few steps one way only to turn around in the other direction. Words couldn't describe how relieved and how happy she was to see Sam on the sidewalk. Dani let out a scoff, he was wearing a stupid expression on his face. His oh so wonderful face.

"Sam!" she called out and started running. She hit him hard, glad he caught her. Pulling back she took his face in her hands and kissed him.

For only a second, Sam kissed her back before he could even register what was happening. When he realised who it was, and where they had came from, his eyes widened, and he placed his hands on Dani's shoulders. Breaking the kiss, Sam looked down at Dani with a very dumbfounded expression. Now, he did know that they'd made out when they'd been drunk back home, but that was as far as they went. To have Dani rush out happily and give him a big kiss was extremely startling.

Sam was so, so confused right now.

"Dani?" he spoke softly. She didn't look drunk, and she didn't smell it either. No, Dani was completely sober, and he could tell. "What...?"

When the kiss broke, Dani felt herself settle a little. But as they drew away from each other, the shock and confusion on Sam's face and realization that this wasn't home made Dani's heart sink.

He had no idea. And with this Sam, this was not something they did. Oh god. Dani hastily backed off. She hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out what to say next.

"Sam. uh."

Dani blinked. How long ago had she been here? "Sam, uh." She lifts her face and shoves at his shoulder. "Look at you, you doof."

"Ah---I, uh," he stared at her, not at ALL sure of what he was supposed to say now. Was he supposed to hug her back, or was he supposed to talk about what happened? Lord, Dani was the last person he ever thought he'd be on the end of this with. Right? Right.

"Yeah, well, look at you, Cheyenne," he spoke, and pushed his hair back awkwardly. "Uhm...you're not dru--uh---nice t'see you again?"
