The constant lecturing is enough that Soundwave almost wants to roll his eyes. At first, he wasn't very certain of this decision, but... quickly, he warmed up to it. In truth, he's always had a bit of a soft spot for animals; their shapes makes him think of those he's lost, and he had pets before.

Pets are... nice. Animals are easier to understand than humans, in many ways.

Soundwave changes his voice, as they are in public. Something nicer, something not so. Monotone.

"That would depend on what we find," he says carefully, trying to ignore the sounds of people.

"But I'm thinking of something like. Throwdown or Bonegnaw."

"But those are such... Decepticon names. Mech names, no less." Skyfire completely misses the part about how they're ridiculous.

"It's like a human naming their pet Jack, Ben or James." He explains carefully, shaking his head.

"Not that I have a problem with Decepticon names, but can't we name it something not so... I don't know. Foreboding? Something that if someone sees me walking it in the park and says 'oh what a cute dog, what's his name?' I don't have to explain why I named it Bonegnaw? It's even hard to say..." The shuttle is satisfied that he's made his point reasonably enough.

"You named a duck after Starscream and Laserbeak. I don't think you have any room to talk on the subject of naming pets after people," Soundwave remarks wryly.

There's a flat look, and he suggests, "What about Killface? Such a majestic name."

"That was different. It was a homage. And Starscream was the lame one. He was a lame duck. Please tell me I am not the only one who saw the humor in that?" The shuttle huffs, crossing his arms.

"Killface? Oh come on." He shakes his head, holding the door to the humane society open for Soundwave as they enter. He greets the woman near the desk and she directs them toward the part of the building where they keep the animals, another employee walking with them, chattering at them excitedly.
