The sound jolted him from his bed, his newspapers scattered about haphazardly. He had been pouring over the residential records, along with his own communicating device, piecing together the here and there. From what Eddie had unearthed, he was about ten years older a week before, and living under an alias. Edward Nygma.Kicking a pile of erratic papers out of the way, Eddie took a few hesitant steps towards the door. He had been told that he was registered to live in this apartment and -- lacking proper funds -- wasn't about to argue free housing. But he had been here alone. "Hello, darling."

Natasha returned the smile easily as she stepped into the room. It was a simple enough thing, taken in in a glance, though, once alone, she'd need to do the proper sweeps for anyone listening in. Darling.

The word tingled down his spine. A flush ran across his high cheekbones, emphasizing his inexperience with this sort of encounter. She was beautiful, an exotic fragrance wafting into the comfort of a young man's mind. He took a step back, easing from the door, his hand swaying in awkward beckoning.

"Please, Natasha, come in. So you've just arrived?" The query was rhetorical, polite. "I've been here just a few days, myself."

He didn't bother to divulge the intimate detail of his apparent older self. No need to complicate matters. Not just yet.

"Would you like something to drink?"

Young and foolish, she amended, which suited her perfectly. She followed after him easily, rolling her coat off her shoulders with slightly more deliberateness than was strictly necessary. Easy targets were dull ones, but nothing terrible when done in the name of her greater good. There was only the matter of feeling out who it would be best to be at the moment.

"Just this morning," she replied. "And I could use a large number of drinks, Edward, thank you. Sorry to intrude."
