Although often, 'wild women' (have to?) take on masculine attributes. See: Alien, or Tomb Raider, or any 'strong' female role that takes on guns and violence as a mode to power. I'm kind of curious as to what is the alternative (having relied on some masculine attributes myself... some of which were sub/consciously imposed some which are just in my genes and upbringing).

If it's that we as a culture associate guns with men, well, cultural views fluctuate. The exception becoming the norm is almost the norm of exceptions. What's pecualiar about this, is that women taking on supposedly male roles will always be seen as just that, just because the usage of various methods and materials are going to be procured by what's already existing. Woman may in fact have to fit the mold of so-called masculine traits (something, I think you see as devolving) before being to express a more eloquent and natural solution to the situation.
I was Googling the title, but I can't find it. Saw it in ABQ last year. It's something like, "[woman's name] 50 guns" or hands. or men. Or something.
