where are you and drew? i miss our youth. and the rock'n'roll we oozed.
we keep saying we ought to get together. i'm sick as a dog right now. but hopefully will be better in a few days. let's just text each other sometime next week and get the radness over with already.
i was telling ash that after i graduate it might be fun for all of us to do your second music video! i have some ideas already...
You should definitely see Paris Is Burning if you haven't already. Beautiful look into race+gender identity mutations in black gay males.
I haven't ever seen it in person either [though I'd love to] but I assume that's because you and I are white females. The only other white female that presumably knew about it was Madonna and homegirl decided to steal the idea of "vogue" and sold it to the nation.
yep! the film contains all the wiki info plus much more. i'm really fond of it.
I should add that the film definitely is the old school mode of vogue'ing... this new school shit in this post is amazing [seems to incorporate a lot more contemporary dance, b-boy culture, and capoeira [I always misspell that word]].

S'cool. I got more studyins all the way til the middle o' May.
I miss youth too. (Not that it's ALL gone) I'm writing about it right now. It's gonna be my epic poem.
Remember Simon Evans at the SF MOMA and how positively flabbergasted I was at his fucking $68,000 scotch tape and Sharpie pieces?
