One thing about Kitty is that she truly changes as a person and character through-out the books. While her wolf sometimes whines too much, I think that's a product of what she went through when she became a werewolf--her human side is still healing, while her wolf side sometimes takes longer to catch up.

Book four really brings her emotional growth full circle. :)
