It felt nice to take a break; while looking for work, she was dolled up as usual, but didn't feel entirely herself. It was as if clothing fit differently now, as someone making a conscious effort to be confident. Her pride was intact -- though it wavered -- but it seemed her demeanor had been wearing away bit by bit during the search for work. And who could blame her? As someone with nothing to their name, it was much easier to inch by with rounded shoulders.
A good way to fix this was finding something new; the cheapest something new was in the pages of a book. Cho could pretend to be somebody else at the expense of no one. Even just browsing through shelves put her in a better state of mind; within minutes she was even humming, and pushing back the brim of her sunhat.
I hope Percy is all right, she thought absently. He'd been on her mind almost constantly - in fact, this was the one thing unemployment hadn't changed. Or... Perhaps it had? Being with him made her didn't always make her forget, but it was better to face such things with someone like him.
Sighing, she picked up a book with an iridescent cover and began thumbing through the pages.
