The chairs were flipped over on the tables and Rosie cast a spell, turning out the lights. The day had been busy with last minute shoppers and families vacationing and she was tired. Despite how tired she felt as she climbed the stairs towards her bedroom, she couldn't get rid of a feeling of longing. For the past two weeks, ever since Athena was killed, she had felt as if something was missing.

Once in her bedroom, she changed into a nightie and crawled into bed. On the night stand there was the mothering book she found at the library, which was soon to be over due if not already. She picked up the volume and flipped through it. She had read it all the way through once and read some stories over again. Knowing she needed to sleep, she put the book down and blew out the candle on the night stand.

However, sleep did not come. The memory of Athena as well some of the stories in the book, filled Rosmerta's head, so she could not sleep. She tossed and turned for an hour as she thought about what a baby would mean. If she had a child, she would be in a similar situation as Minerva and Athena. Single working mother, no husband. However, since she lived at work, she wouldn't really ever need a nanny and she thought she'd be a good mother. She grew up in the pub and lived happily, most of the time.

Yet at the same time, she would be significantly older then the other parents and, well she was a bar owner, not the most appealing of positions. Rosie's head filled with pros and cons of the whole baby idea. There was a part of her desperate for one and another part that was happy just the way things were. She knew she needed to make a decision if she was going to get any sleep.

Picking up the book from the table, she said, "Front cover, baby, back cover, status quo." She flipped the book high in the air and watched it land at the foot of her bed. The thud muffled by the blankets. As she looked at which side it landed it, she nodded.

"Decision made."
