Hermione arrived at Grimmauld Place at squarely five o' clock -- arrived first in order to set up decorations. (And because the spat with Draco left her with all the desire to leave the house.)
While the spells weren't extravagant, they left the house decorated in red and white stripes -- a lollipop of colors and sickeningly bright spools of cotton candy, streamers choking out the house's inherent gloom. Well, it was still rather gloomy, but Hermione knew there was only so much she could do. At the very least, she hoped Harry would be amused.
Ron still wasn't here.

Hermione slumped into a chair and waited with Harry's present dangling uselessly between her fingers.
