Blaise had been in the mood for some fresh fruit and headed off to see what the market had available. On his way to the checkout counter, he glanced down one of the aisles and curiosity took over. Taking a few steps toward a familiar outline he couldn't help but chide.
Draco prodded one of the boxes on the shelf, pondering just why in god's name anyone would ever want semi-sweet chocolate - the whole point was that it was sweet, right? - then glanced to the side when he heard a voice he recognized. Not one he was particularly interested in hearing, since the situation with Pansy still rankled him, but he wouldn't chuck a wobbly in public. "Zabini," he said with a civil nod of greeting. "Looking for something to bribe my house-elf with, actually."
Blaise gave a look of disbelief. "Since when do you bribe house elves?"
Blaise couldn't imagine bribing the help. House elves were supposed to do what they were told by their masters, end of discussion. "I think I'd rather admit to baking than admit to that."
"Since I discovered that a little kindness gets a man much further than a little ironing of their ears." Draco raised an eyebrow at Zabini, then returned his attention to the shelf in front of him. "I'm sure you would. I, on the other hand, decided to grow up a little bit. Maybe you will one day."
