"Well, I think that went well. Don't you, Harry? Ron?" Hermione grinned. "At least I wasn't utter rubbish on the practical like I'd feared. There are really so many things you can do wrong when working hands-on with the plants. I'm actually relieved to have that over with so I can concentrate on the more important subjects." She barely paused for a breath before continuing, "Still, there is absolutely no reason not to do your best if you're going to do a thing. So even though I don't think I'll be doing anything where I'll need a strong Herbology score, I honestly couldn't see any reason I shouldn't try hard for an Outstanding anyway."
The three friends reached the portrait and Hermione called out the password. The common room wasn't too full, as many of the students were off in the library. "How about over there?" She pointed to the free seats over where Ron and Harry often played chess.
