Characters: Lee Jordan and Oliver Wood Location: Hunter Moon Cafe Date: May 10, 2000 Status/Warning: Semi-private/None Summary: Lee meets up Oliver for an interview Completion: In Progress
Oliver had had lunch with his sisters and the nanny making sure that homework was in order for Monday and everything. Their parents were in Switzerland so it was up to him to keep things in order.
Entering the Cafe he saw Lee at a table and immediately headed that way with a smile on his face.
"Lee! Good to see you again mate. How's life treating you?"
Lee broke out into a grin. "Oliver, how's it going mate?" he asked as he waited for Oliver to sit.
"Things are good. Only thing that would make it better would be a bird waiting back home for me." He gave Oliver a wink before asking, "How's your bird?"
"Things are going well actually, just enjoying the spring weather and all that rot." Oliver told him with a grin. He still wasn't that used to giving interviews but hoped that it wouldn't be too bad with his old house mate.
"Tracey is doing well and we're still keeping company together. I thought you were seeing something or was that just the rumour mill running mad?"
Lee nodded; he hadn't be getting out of the office much, but he was enjoying the weather if he could. "Nah. Just a rumor; I'm seeing everything right now and no particular bird has tickled my fancy." Except Mandy. She was a good source of conversation, plus he liked her musical talent. "How about some teas before we start?"
Waving a server over, Lee ordered a cup before explaining to Oliver what he'd like to do. "So, I'm just going to ask some questions. Answer as little as you want, but the more the better.
"That they are," Oliver agreed, "I got lucky they could have been Canon fans or something nutty like that." He joked. While he appreciated Tracey coming out to his games on occasion he knew she wasn't a fan.
"My girlfriend is a fan of me, Quiddich isn't her thing and that's probably a good thing since it keeps me from being just about the game." He said diplomatically.
"Now now, Oliver, I thought this was going to be a friendly chat," Lee said with a chuckle. "The Canons aren't bad." Since Lee had actually met his girlfriend, he wasn't all that surprised to hear that Quidditch wasn't her thing. She wasn't anything like the Pitch Bunnies he'd seen around most of the games.
"Must be difficult during the season on both your family and your bird. Sounds like you spend a lot of your free time with them."
Winking Oliver shrugged, everyone had to have a team they couldn't stand in his case it was the Canons. "Yeah but they aren't good either." He joked back.
Thinking about how he had to balance his time during the season made him sigh as he nodded. "I've been very lucky. My girlfriend is very understanding and isn't the type to need me to be in her pockets." A trait Oliver really appreciated.
Chuckling, Lee just shook his head. It was interviews like this that made him love his job. "I don't know, Wood. This bird sounds too good to be true. Sure, she's not just some bloke poly-juicing himself for you?"
"Long enough, I looked at the shopping bill and asked the Nanny why she was buying so much ice cream. She thought I had lost my mind and told me." Oliver told Lee with a laugh. "I swear the two of them would have ended up in Slythin had Callie been magical."
Lee shook his head. "I don't know. They kind of sound like Fred and George, especially once they discovered how to get into the kitchens. They were always nicking stuff for us to eat."
Thinking back Oliver could agree with that, "You could be right. I have no doubt that Maeve will end up in Slytherin though. Maybe it's a good thing Callie won't ever go to Hogwarts. Not sure the place could handle another set that thinks like Fred and George."
"Probably not. Although, McGonagall far more stricter than Dumbledore ever was. Besides, imagine the look on Filch's face when he realizes the trouble makers are set of twin girls."
