It was hours before George returned home from the graveyard. The rain had finally broke and driven him back to the heart of London and up the creaking stairs to the flat. Opening the front door, George let himself in and kicked off his shoes. Backup didn't bark, just lifted her head and thumped her tail against the ground ( ... )

"Mmmlllhh," Katie mumbled slightly as she stirred in her place on the sofa. "You're home..."

She wiped her face and sat up slowly. "Sorry... I fell asleep."

She took out her wand and lit the candles with it.

Lounging back in his chair, George let the back of it support his head, eyes never leaving Katie. Her presence was calming, even just watching her simply lighting candles made him feel more at peace. 'It's alright. I didn't mind. It was nice coming home to the image.'
