Summary: Burglary in Diagon
Completion: Complete
Diagon Alley's Scribbulus Everchanging Inks was burglarized late last night, leaving the place in shambles.
According to a Ministry press secretary Mary McDonald, the perpetrators broke into the stationary shop using the back door before they began to ransack the supplies, register and even the safe which was standing in plain sight of the management office.
"This does not appear to be a planned attack, instead a crime of opportunity," McDonald said. "However, the items targeted were of higher value and worth."
Some of the items that were taken were gold and silver tipped quills, precious metal infused ink, marble quill stands as well as currency from the register and safe said William Scribbulus, the owner, as he picked through his shop which was littered with torn parchments, broken glass and split ink. There were no witnesses to the crime.
"I don't have a whole lot of the high scale items. There has to be a dozen other shops in Diagon that would have things worth far more than what I have." Scribbulus said,
Despite the mess caused, no one has come forward with any information about the incident.
"I didn't see or hear anything. You would think I would have, based on the mess they left behind," said Lee Jordan, WWN Quidditch announcer and resident above the small shop located in Diagon Alley.
Jordan was not the only one bewildered by the destructive nature of the robbery, several neighbors said they heard or saw nothing.
"Seems mighty fishy they be smart enough to sound proof the place while they were tossing everything around," Michael Trusty said.
While the Ministry refused to comment on whether or not they believed the crime to be caused by one individual or several, McDonald said they would be looking into every possible lead.
"Of course, any information regarding the robbery would certainly be helpful," said McDonald. "And we encourage those who have information to please contact the Ministry as soon as possible."
